Winter closures and Pre-Spring Openings!

The last month of winter has seen several new business ventures spring to life on King St and sadly a few closures as well.

Starting at 228 King St, which last month was Joshua & Sean, has quickly re-opened as Kaboodle, an accessories store which many of you might know from various markets around town. They also stock Red Dog Designs which we have blogged about previously. I know a lot of you will be sad to see Joshua & Sean disappear as it had almost a cult following.

For coffee & tea lovers Funky Brewsters opened on Monday (formerly Sacks Coffee Roasters) at 343 Kings St, coffee by Di Bella, tea by Harvey & Sons and lights meals for under $10. Long opening hours -6am till 7pm, 7 days a week and later on Friday and Saturday nights, a fresh fit out and a very reasonably priced light food menu will go a long way to helping this new business get off the ground. My coffee, just hours after they opened was just perfect. They are the only cafe in Sydney to sell Harvey & Sons teas and have 20 varities on offer.

Then as I head south on King St, a few closures grab my attention, Kruvell  Jewellery at 401 King St is almost bare, a weekend sale clearing the last pieces of stock. A few doors down Shopkraft is also advertising a closing down sale at 431 King St.

I keep going and Ferah Turkish Cafe at 433 King St is soon to be open, mmm competition for my favourite Sultan’s Table, Enmore? Further south a cutesy fit out is taking place next door to Doytao Thai at Little Big Tween – Fashion for Tweens (ages 6-14 yrs apparently), no opening dates advertised.

And while I am down the south end, Halong Vietnamese Restaurant is currently closed for renovations…

Good luck to all those new businesses, we wish you much success and for all those who have closed we wish you all the best with your new endeavours.
