The Pie Tin… The Art of Pie

So who’s been to The Pie Tin in Newtown?

Combine one of my favourite foods, potato, with a choice of about a zillion different delicious pies and you have the keys to my heart. The Pie Tin has a huge range of handmade sweet and savoury pies which are baked daily on the premises. It opened in about March of this year (I think) and if you haven’t been yet, add it to the list of great places to eat in the Inner West.

The interior of The Pie Tin is gorgeous with high ceilings, metal chairs and exposed brick walls. The large central communal table is inviting and it is a great spot for a quick meal before heading out on the town or off to the movies. A pie and two hot sides or a salad will only set you back about $10.

Some of the pie choices include Morroccan Lamb with chickpea and cumin, Butter Chicken, Vegetable Korma and Mushroom Stroganoff, as well as a selection of sausage rolls & quiches. The vegetarians amongst us will also be happy to hear there’s a selection of meat-free options, so there is pretty much something for everyone!

Drop in and experience pie heaven. Located just off King Street.

Pie tin is a great place to visit after a night of studying at the Newtown library. The pies are amazing and the place is always meticulously kept and welcoming! I actually wanted to work for them but then found my current job, oh well I can always enjoy the pies as a customer :)
