The Earth Plate – Marrickville Organic Farmers Markets

On Sunday, my hubby and I were counting off the minutes till lunchtime so that we could down tools at the renovation site of what is to be our future home, but currently looks like a complete dog box. We headed to Marrickville Organic Farmers Market which is only a short walk away, to get a bite to eat. I am fast becoming a regular visitor to these markets and have been eyeing off a dish called the Earth Plate which I have been wanting to try.

The Earth Plate can only be described as art on a plate! The dish is lovingly constructed and includes a chickpea burger, rice cake, carrot and quinoa salad, beetroot salad, pumpkin and split pea and lentil salad, salad greens, hummus, pumpkin and almond pesto, split pea paste, yoghurt, garlic and olive oil. All this constructed on an edible plate of flat bread, whoa… no wonder I was completely stuffed after eating all that, and it is only $12! Even my hubby loved it and you can’t get more of a meat lover than him.

TIP: The construction of the Earth Plate does take quite a bit of time and there is only one lovely lady creating this masterpiece on a plate – so get there early!
