The chocolate brownie at Darley Street Bistro is on steroids

I have visited Darley Street Bistro several times and I have honestly contemplated not telling you guys about it or sharing any photos of their awesome food. My reasoning being I thought this might prevent more people finding out about it so I would still be able to find a seat whenever I felt like dropping in for a meal. But I can’t help myself – this place is too good not to share!

If you enjoy chocolate desserts or chocolate of any kind, in any shape or form, then make sure you order the Darley Street Bistro choc brownie. It is like nothing I have ever seen before! Better described as a tower of pure choc goodness with strawberries and icecream. It is awesome! For only $8.95 the chocolate brownie is no run of the mill choc brownie, this dessert is on steroids. There are other desserts on the menu, I just can’t go past the brownie. On my next visit I am going to make sure I try the cheesecake!

But enough about desserts – the mains are just as fabulous! I have been to the bistro with friends and was glad that everyone tried something different. I had the kangaroo on a bed or sweet potato mash which was to die for but the other dishes looked just as good. Mushroom risotto with asparagus and parmesan, chilli prawn fettucine, trusty fish and chips, chicken parmesan, yellow fin tuna and of course a delicious Angus steak with chips. Yum! Yum! Yum! Everything was great!

Do yourself a favour and drop in for a bite to eat. The menu is massive – the whiteboard menu seems to go on forever and the prices are reasonable. The bistro is child friendly as it has access off Darley Street and not through the Botany View Hotel and there is indoor and outdoor eating are upstairs. If you are going with a large group I would advise ringing ahead to make a booking.

IMPORTANT TIP: Unless you are some kind of brownie eating monster, I suggest you get the choc brownie dessert to share (with at least 1 or 2 other people).

And I can’t help myelf – there is some great graffiti just around the corner of the pub for anyone wanting to check out some cool work!

many vegetarian options? (other than the vegetarian risotto – so tired of risotto as only vegetarian option!)

The menu is sooooo big there has to be a stack or vegetarian options… I will make sure I check next time I am there (which I am sure will be very soon!)
