Interview: with James Ottaway AKA Earwig

Interview: with James Ottaway AKA Earwig
I first found out about James through the Australian Stencil Art Prize 2010 which was exhibiting at the Oh Really Gallery last year. He was one of the finalists with his work ‘Art Defines Us’. It was my favourite piece in the exhibition and I was so impressed when I discovered that he was only 16 years old and living in beautiful Tasmania. I was upset, (for myself, not him of course) that...

What a lovely addition to the state rail fence overlooking the train line. I LOVE Newtown! I LOVE the inner west! I LOVE street art! [View...

These are the last three creations… can’t wait to see what will...

The Beautiful Skippy Girls

The Beautiful Skippy Girls
I had the pleasure of walking past the beautiful Skippy Girls this week. They brought a big smile to my face and I hope they bring one to yours. Originally painted in 1998 the Skippy Girls have been tagged and destroyed several times, but always lovingly restored by local residents. Next time you need a bit of cheering up, walk along Wilson Street and watch the girls skipping along the corrugated...

Oh Really Gallery – Culture Jam

Oh Really Gallery - Culture Jam
I popped into the Oh Really Gallery last night for some live painting by Houl and live improvised hip hop by members of The Dyno Mics. The gallery was opened by street artists Max Berry, Daniel O’Toole (Ears) and Jamie Nimmo. Great art, great music, great beer. What more could you ask for on a Thursday night. To keep updated on all happenings and exhibitions at the gallery just check out their...
