SMC3 at the Crumpler Store on King Street

SMC3 at the Crumpler Store on King Street
Every time I head to Newtown I love walking past the Crumpler store to see if there’s been a new street art creation on the wall outside the store. On the weekend I noticed the Skulk design had been replaced with a new artwork by street artist SMC3. This is the same artist that painted the fantastic characters on the walls inside the Japanese Restaurant, Kuki Tanuki on Erskineville Road. For...

Street Art on King Street continues to impress!

Street Art on King Street continues to impress!
I’m impressed, yet again! Three amazing artworks have been created since my last update on the revolving street art exhibition on King Street. Ears and Birdhat both showcased their work outside the Crumpler Store throughout the early months of 2012 and in that last couple of days street artist Skulk has made his mark. This is the first time I have seen his work here and I hope he becomes a regular...

Great Garage Doors of the Inner West

Great Garage Doors of the Inner West
Nothing beats walking down the streets and through the lanes of the Inner West and finding great art on garage doors. There are some amazing designs out there. When I finally get around to fixing my dodgy back fence I need to find a street artist who can transform mine from a boring wooden paling fence into a work of art. Some of the street artists that have redesigned these garage doors throughout Newtown,...

Inner West favourites participating in the Outpost Project on Cockatoo Island
I have put together some photos of my favourite street art from around the Inner West. But the really exciting news is that some of our favourite Inner West street artists will be taking part in the Outpost Project on Cockatoo Island from (4 Nov – 11 Dec). To say that I am excited...

Interview: Street Artist Birdhat
Everyone knows by now that I am a huge fan of street art. I love walking through the streets of the Inner West and stumbling across a new piece of art on the walls. Nothing beats turning my head to check if there is a new splash of colour in a laneway and spotting a new work. One street artist whose work never fails to bring a smile to my face and brighten my day is Birdhat. I was excited that I got...

The rotating street art exhibition continues + Phibs “Journey”

The rotating street art exhibition continues + Phibs
I started photographing the free rotating art exhibition next to the Crumpler store on King Street last October. There have been several changes since then. A couple of months ago, some bastard actually stole the Phibs artwork right off the wall. It took a while to get a replacement board back up on the wall, but it’s up and I was excited to see that Phibs has made a return with another one of...

Ladies of the Inner West

Ladies of the Inner West
About time we had a celebration of the lovely ladies of the Inner West. Check out these gorgeous ladies! Some oldies and some newbies, some young, some a little older, some looking fresh faced, some needing a little work. But I love them all. All of these lovely ladies reside in the Inner West but I am sure there are loads more about. Let me know if you have seen any more that I haven’t included....

For the love of Hazzy Bee

For the love of Hazzy Bee
I feel like a bit of a street art floozy. I am in love with the work of so many artists including Ears, Beastman, Phibs, Be Free, Bird Hat and who coud not love Hazzy Bee? I’m sure the list of favourite street artists will continue to grow. But today I want to shine a little light on Hazzy Bee because everytime I walk past a Hazzy Bee design it shines a little light on me. Hope it brings a smile...
