ANZAC Day at The Vic

ANZAC Day at The Vic
BIGGEST GAME OF 2 UP IN THE INNER WEST SPURS FOR JESUS + HANDSOME YOUNG STRANGERS + JAY KATZ It has been close to a century since the collective of heroes known to all as THE ANZACS, fought for our freedom on the shores of Gallipoli. To remember our fallen diggers, The Vic will be hosting their first Anzac Day celebration with live music courtesy of Spurs For Jesus and Handsome Young Strangers,...

Interview with Street Artist: Bafcat

Interview with Street Artist: Bafcat
Living in the Inner West I have become very familiar with the great work of street artist Bafcat. His colourful wacky creations always stop me in my tracks and bring a smile to my face and I’ve loved watching his style develop on the street, both individually and in collaboration with others. I recently bought an awesome Bafcat drawing at the “Dirty Laundry” exhibition at The Tate Gallery in...

May Lane Newbies + Old Favourites

May Lane Newbies + Old Favourites
The May Lane Art Project is an amazing outdoor gallery space located in St Peters and I am a frequent visitor because it’s constantly changing and it’s a free art gallery that’s avaliable to everyone. There are five main panels that are positioned along the side of a building in May Lane and artists are invited to use the entire building as their canvas, or they can focus on the...

Sydney Fringe vs Italy vs Portugal

Sydney Fringe vs Italy vs Portugal
Hi there Inner Westies! Just thought I should let you know that the blogs will probably be few and far between (if any) over the next 4 weeks because I am going on holidays…Yeehaa! I’m currently trying to find some summer clothes to fit into and packing my bags as I am heading off to Italy and Portugal with Scootergirl for a whole month! I know, I know, what have I got myself in for? Well...

Ladies of the Inner West

Ladies of the Inner West
About time we had a celebration of the lovely ladies of the Inner West. Check out these gorgeous ladies! Some oldies and some newbies, some young, some a little older, some looking fresh faced, some needing a little work. But I love them all. All of these lovely ladies reside in the Inner West but I am sure there are loads more about. Let me know if you have seen any more that I haven’t included....

Graffiti Heaven – Dunlop Slazenger Factory

Graffiti Heaven - Dunlop Slazenger Factory
I have been so excited about visiting the abandoned Dunlop Slazenger Factory in Alexandria since first hearing about it a couple of months ago. Unfortunately my ‘Sensible Sally’ husband banned me from going by myself. Kill buzz. So I dragged both hubby and sister along to explore the factory a couple of weekends ago. But entry to the factory proved to be a little more difficult than anticipated....

Ears @ Camperdown

Ears @ Camperdown
I have missed walking down King Street and seeing the work created by Ears next to the Crumpler store (not that I don’t also love Phibs latest addition). But I was happy to discovered that Ears has been very busy at Camperdown Park. He has added his distinctive touch to the area as only Ears can. LOVE IT! [View with PicLens] ...

The Slug Art Gallery

The Slug Art Gallery
If you live in the inner west you have probably seen some of Slugs work popping up. He seems to be everywhere. These photos were taken in Enmore, St. Peters, Newtown, Tempe, Chippendale and Marrickville. Enjoy the Slug art gallery. I am looking forward to adding to this collection, so if you have seen others, let me know. My sister thinks I have developed a bit of a graffiti crush on him, she might...

The chocolate brownie at Darley Street Bistro is on steroids

The chocolate brownie at Darley Street Bistro is on steroids
I have visited Darley Street Bistro several times and I have honestly contemplated not telling you guys about it or sharing any photos of their awesome food. My reasoning being I thought this might prevent more people finding out about it so I would still be able to find a seat whenever I felt like dropping in for a meal. But I can’t help myself – this place is too good not to share! If...
