Paying homage to a city blessed with a growing number of microbreweries, specialty beer bars and cider houses, Sip & Savour – a craft beer experience is coming to Carriageworks Sydney on 25th & 26th October. Save the date!

Meet and chat to brewers and indulge in the region’s best gourmet food offerings from street food vendors and local producers. Attend any number of seminars to learn about the many facets of craft beer. Heaps of demonstrations on how to combine beer and food, even a master class on homebrewing.

An undeniable highlight of Sydney Craft Beer Week and registered event of Sydney Good Food Month, the festival will feature over 250 brews and ciders from which to taste. Australian Beer Ambassadors, the creative minds behind the annual Great Australian Beer Festival, believe the timing is right to create an event tailored for the most vibrant market in the country.

Director of Australian Beer Ambassadors (ABA) Kieran Blood said Sydney-siders have embraced craft beer and this event will celebrate the craftsmanship, artistry and passion that goes into its creation. “It will promote and encourage awareness, appreciation and understanding while delivering a cultural experience befitting of the great space. Carriageworks is ideal! The historic and heritage venue is a home, an inspiration for the development of creative work and the perfect location to showcase the very artisan nature behind craft brewing”, he said.

Craft beer festivals have been taking over event spaces nationwide, popping up year round to offer the palates of beer enthusiasts a selection of new and unique ales and lagers for sampling. An ever-expanding industry, craft beer has been rapidly making its way into beer lovers’ hearts and refrigerators over the past few years.

“Our aim is to create an event that aficionados, converts and the uninitiated alike can enjoy. We’re looking forward to fusing the craft of brewing with the inspired talents of emerging and seasoned artists, musicians, photographers and filmmakers,” said Mr Blood.

The day guarantees to open your mind to the many facets of craft beer. Attend one of the free seminars with some of the country’s most knowledgeable industry professionals, presenting across-the-board topics from how to match beer and food, brew your own craft beer right through to learning what’s required to start your own brewery.

Sydney Craft Beer Week Co-Director Mark David, said he was pleased to have an event of this scale as part of Sydney Craft Beer Week. “It’s a fantastic full spectrum experience to close off an amazing week of events across Sydney, catering to beer lovers, food folk and a great day out for anyone looking to try something new.”

Even if beer specifically isn’t your thing, there is still plenty for you – discover a world away from beer where craft beer culture takes a back seat to a variety of culinary delights, inspiring art and great live entertainment.
