Pickwicks in Enmore

We are all in such a hurry these days, we need to slow down and enjoy that bottle of red over a gorgeous meal. Pickwicks is the place to do it! An intimate venue with loads of character on Enmore Road. I have been walking by this restaurant since it opened without trying it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Saturday night the planets aligned and 3 of us got together for dinner. First stop was the bottleshop to buy a fine bottle of Tempus Two Cabernet Merlot as Pickwicks is BYO wine and beer as well! That gets a big tick in my book.

Since my party were all on semi-diets we went straight to mains, Veal backstrap with prosciutto and lentils, Confit pork neck with red cabbage, radish, buckwheat, cranberry and Stracci, house made pasta and goats cheese with edamame, ricotta, hazelnut. Each dish was unique and served to perfection, each an experience. All of us chose a dish we were happy with but we also had a little taste of each others and they were each sensational. Since we didn’t have entree two of us felt we deserved dessert (lol) and I might have been one of the guilty two! Since I’ve taken on the challenge to taste every cheese platter in Sydney I went with the mushroomy French Brie with honey and fig and crostini combination and the other guilty party selected the mousse with chocolate crumble and blueberry dessert that was also to die for! Pickwicks is run by people who clearly love their food and want you to relax and enjoy. If you dine here you need to be ready to slow down and really take the time.
