Newbies on the block: Double Roasters in Marrickville

I was so excited last week when I discovered a new cafe had opened up in my own backyard of Marrickville. How could I resist popping in on the weekend to check it out. The fitout is gorgeous and I love the donkey that greets you at the door. There are lots of things that I love about the newbie on the block, Double Roasters in Marrickville:

1. It is within walking distance from my house – yippeee!

2. The coffee is amazing and roasted in-house.

3. It has a gorgeous interior and fitout.

4. They have embraced my love of street art and stencil on the wall by street artist FUKT.

5. They have a pet donkey (I didn’t find out it’s name but I will next time I go).

6. There is seating both inside and out which will be great in Summer.

7. It is spacious and unlike a lot of Inner West cafes you don’t feel like you are sitting on top of the people who are seated next to you.

8. They are open 7 days a week! Yah!

9. They have a big communal table to enjoy your coffee, breakfast or lunch.

10. Or…grab a takeaway coffee and entertain your kids in the park across the street.

It’s a bummer they close at 3pm weekdays because there is no way I can get there in time to to get my afternoon coffee hit, so it will have to be a weekend treat for me. The great news for all the early birds out there is they open at 6am every day so you can pop in for your morning coffee on your way to work. I had a great breakfast there on Saturday, avocado and feta mash on sourdough with rocket and cherry tomatoes, and I will definitely be back soon.
