Auction results for Saturday 14 August 2010
innerwestrealestatesydney.com.au has been making a huge effort to track auction results in the inner west area due to the lack of results that appear in the papers. We realise it is a huge job for companies to track the whole of Sydney so we decided to take matters into our own hands so that we could be up to date with suburbs in our area. Last weekend there were 12 auctions scheduled for Saturday...

Settlement on Tuesday…no chance…bugger!

Settlement on Tuesday...no chance...bugger!
Ok, let me set the scene. My husband and I spent over a year searching long and hard, high and low for a property to buy in the Inner West. We missed out on several properties at auction and finally managed to secure one prior to auction. Sure, a complete dog box but with potential. When we initially went through the property it was actually impossible to get a true indication of what the property...

LUG or delapidated shed??? Real Estate advertising at its best!
So it is only one week until I finally get the keys to my inner west pad in my hot little hands. I am so excited because I have had to wait a full 3 months for settlement. The wait has been killing me. My local cafe will soon be Kelby’s Cafe at the top of Malakoff Street and I will be within walking distance to the fantastic Marrickville Organic Farmers Markets that are on every Sunday on Addison...

Newtowns Most Famous Mural & Local Residents Face Their Biggest Threat!
Opposite the railway line at Macdonaldtown station (adjacent to Pine St) is a famous mural known as the “Three Proud People”. The mural signifies the 1968 stance of 3 athletes who stood in defiance on the Olympic medal podium. During the American national anthem John Carlos and Tommie Smith gave the raised fist salute as a sign of black power and in protest on behalf of the Olympic Project...

Top 10 auction results in the inner west in July
I am a bit of a real estate junkie. I love following the real estate market. I loved searching for a property to buy in the inner west and having now finally bought a house I love keeping up to date with where the market is at. Who doesn’t love going to open houses to see what other people have done to their homes and improvements and renovation that have been completed. Is that weird? Surely...

The Elusive Inner West Property

The Elusive Inner West Property
The Long Search AAAARGHHHHHH…. When will our inner west dream come true??? After searching for a home to buy for over 12 months, my husband and I thought it was never going to happen. I think we may have been the only people actually wishing for a rate rise hoping that it might slow the real estate market that seemed to be continually spiralling out of our reach. Having been repeatedly devastated...

55 Leamington Avenue Newtown For Sale $9,949,500
About a week ago I wrote a blog about a property in Newtown for sale for an extraordinary price – 3 bed / 2 bath / 0 car – for a bargain price of $9,950,000. Well I was pleased to find out that the agents thought this was a little expensive too and the price was therefore reduced…to $9,495,000. Much more realistic don’t you think!!! Ha ha… For anyone interested in finding...

Save Leamington Avenue, Newtown

Save Leamington Avenue, Newtown
This morning I had breakie at Ism Cafe on Wilson Street and after enjoying my spanish omlette and toast, which by the way was delicious, I walked out of the cafe and a poster on their front window titled SAVE LEAMINGTON AVENUE caught my eye. The poster outlined possible plans to demolish a block of historic houses in Newtown to make way for the government to build a controversial new CityRail ”relief...

3 bed / 2 bath / 0 car - for a bargain price of $9,950,000
Oops… looks like someone made a bit of a typo.
