Politics Over a Deli on King Cheese Plate

Dinner tonight while watching the worm annoyingly cross the tv screen was courtesy of a lazy afternoon visit to Deli on King to buy my Italian cheese favourites. Did you know that Deli on King is moving in a few days? Don’t panic you will still be able to buy all sorts of delicacies from this gourmet deli. They are not moving far, from 257 King Street, Newtown to 353 King Street near Buzz Bar. If...

Moo Gourmet Burgers are now on King Street

Moo Gourmet Burgers are now on King Street
Ok, so I am a little bit excited about Moo Gourmet Burgers moooooving into King Street (come on, that was a little bit funny!). Sure there are already a couple of burger places on King Street – we have Burger Fuel and Burgerlicious but I used to trek over to Bondi whenever I wanted a Moo Burger hit and now I only have to walk down King Street – very very cool! They are running  a competition...

Bank Hotel Re-opening

Bank Hotel Re-opening
Walk passed the Bank Hotel tonight, lights are on and it looks like they are warming up for their Monday 19 July re-opening… finally. So when Monday rolls around and you need to fight off those Monday blues, which let’s face it – everyone does, head over to the Bank for a nice beverage… or maybe even some Thai!  Read More →

The NEW Razors Bistro!

The NEW Razors Bistro!
I was devastated to find out that Razors Edge Restaurant was closing down after 15 fabulous years but also extremely happy to hear they would be re-opening just a short stroll down the road in the Queen Victoria Hotel, Enmore. Annie, my personal inner west food guide (who also happens to be my workmate) introduced me to the restaurant a couple of years ago and since my first Razors experience I have...

Talented and creative! Artisans Arts & Craft Eveleigh Market

Talented and creative! Artisans Arts & Craft Eveleigh Market
How did I not know about this place? If you have never been to the Eveleigh Markets, it is worth a visit just to admire the space and the surrounding buildings – not to mention the great art, design, fashion and craft stalls. Despite my initial intention of going to the markets just to have a look (at least that’s what I told myself), I found myself continually pulling my wallet out the make...

The Bank is back…well soon!

The Bank is back...well soon!
The sign in the Bank Hotel window says it all. Fire…no power…no beer…big mess… But looks like it is re-opening in July. See you down at The Bank for a drink soon.  Read More →

Cheap night out – it still exists

Cheap night out – it still exists
How many places can you go for a dinner and a movie for $20. Not bloody many let me tell you… I know, I love my movies and I love my food. But Dendy Newtown has movies for $11 (for members – membership only costs $20 for 2 years) and you get to sit in their wonderfully comfortable seats. At Newtown Thai (near the corner of O’Connell Street and King Street) which is one of my fav places...

Erskineville Deli sells Brassiere Bread

Erskineville Deli sells Brassiere Bread
I watched Masterchef on Friday and they featured Michael Klausen from Brassiere Bread. The bread looked delicious and I wanted to know how to get my hands on some so I checked out their website and it turns out there are several places throughout the inner west where you can buy it (I have included the locations below). I headed straight to Deli Erskineville and they had a display in their front...
