I’m back! I’ve spent the last couple of months entertaining in-laws from overseas, taking them on an eating tour around Sydney and throughout the Inner West and have been an all-round tour guide extraordinaire. Ahhh… the joy of food. It doesn’t get much more joyful than the food at Cafe Sopra on Dank Street. The food is amazing, hallellujah kind of amazing! I have my friend Ali to thank for introducing me to this place. She recommended I try the meatballs and they are out of this world. Meatballs, pasta, salads and desserts to die for! I was so excited last week when I discovered a new cafe had opened up in my own backyard of Marrickville. How could I resist popping in on the weekend to check it out. So who’s been to The Pie Tin in Newtown? Combine one of my favourite foods, potato, with a choice of about a zillion different delicious pies and you have the keys to my heart. I love Japanese food so I was very happy when Edamame Sushi opened its doors a couple of months ago and joined the Marrickville Road food strip. Gigi Pizzeria combines two of my favourite things… food and street art! Gigi’s offers a range of great Italian dishes and delicious pizzas with a fanstastic wall of graffiti as a backdrop created by the super talented Ears (who I have a big graffiti crush on!).
