Club Dendy at Newtown

I just received my Dendy Cinemas Club card in the post and quickly scampered off to watch beautiful Leonardo DiCaprio in Inception on Thursday night. Just in case you are not a member of Club Dendy at Newtown here are some of the benefits, and there are plenty that might persuade you to join: For $20 yearly membership you then pay only $11 for an adult ticket You plus 1, not only do you receive tickets...

Note to self, more research needed in prep for RSVP date

Recently I posted that I was going to see Under Milk Wood at Sidetrack Theatre at Marrickville. What I didn’t tell you was that I was taking a guy I had met on my first foray into RSVP. It was our second date, our first being coffee. Under Milk Wood the “play for voices” written by Dylan Thomas was unknown to me but the fact that the one actor took the role of 64 people had me excited...

Hardware Gallery on Enmore Road

Hardware Gallery on Enmore Road
Now I need to make something perfectly clear from the start – I am no art critic and I am not going to pretend to be one! My only qualification is I enjoy going to galleries and exhibitions to see the amazing work that so many creative people are producing. I just want to let you know a little bit about exhibitions and galleries in the Inner West and encourage you to get out there and have...

Bank Hotel Re-opening
Walk passed the Bank Hotel tonight, lights are on and it looks like they are warming up for their Monday 19 July re-opening… finally. So when Monday rolls around and you need to fight off those Monday blues, which let’s face it – everyone does, head over to the Bank for a nice beverage… or maybe even some Thai!  Read More →

The NEW Razors Bistro!

The NEW Razors Bistro!
I was devastated to find out that Razors Edge Restaurant was closing down after 15 fabulous years but also extremely happy to hear they would be re-opening just a short stroll down the road in the Queen Victoria Hotel, Enmore. Annie, my personal inner west food guide (who also happens to be my workmate) introduced me to the restaurant a couple of years ago and since my first Razors experience I have...

Oh Really Gallery – Culture Jam

Oh Really Gallery - Culture Jam
I popped into the Oh Really Gallery last night for some live painting by Houl and live improvised hip hop by members of The Dyno Mics. The gallery was opened by street artists Max Berry, Daniel O’Toole (Ears) and Jamie Nimmo. Great art, great music, great beer. What more could you ask for on a Thursday night. To keep updated on all happenings and exhibitions at the gallery just check out their...

Under Milk Wood at Sidetrack Theatre Marrickville

Just booked tickets to Friday nights performance of Under Milk Wood after reading that Zoe Norton Lodge plays all 64 roles? How is this possible? For $30 a ticket, I am more than happy to find out. Has anyone seen this?  Read More →

Exit Through The Gift Shop – A Banksy Film

Exit Through The Gift Shop - A Banksy Film
I headed to Dendy Newtown to check out a new film called “Exit Through The Gift Shop” a film by the notorious street artist, Banksy. Having sold out its sessions at the Sydney Film Festival I thought it would be worthwhile checking out when Dendy began showing it for a limited time. It is funny as hell. Hoax? Real? Documentary? Mockumentary? Fiction? I have no idea and as far as I am concerned...

Child’s Play in the Inner West

Child's Play in the Inner West
If you think the inner west is only interested in catering to us adults, think again. I have just returned from a day at Sydney Park, St Peters with friends and a few toddlers in toe and I am more than impressed, I am blown away. This is the best playground in Sydney! Here is a park that caters for almost everyone, toddlers to kids to mums & dads, nannies and free childcare minders e.g grandmas...
