DINNER FOR 2 FOR UNDER $25?!!!

DINNER FOR 2 FOR UNDER $25?!!!
Where do 2 single girls get together mid week to discuss dating disasters or lack of, rsvp profiles, and the state of the nation? Sultan’s Table! A Turkish restaurant at 179 Enmore Rd, Enmore. Sultan’s is cheap and delicious, byo and noisy enough that no one listens to your conversation but quiet enough that you can hear your friend talk! We had lots to catch up on, I am about a month ahead...

Guzman Y Gomez On King

Guzman Y Gomez On King
I have probably walked past Guzman Y Gomez about a thousand times but I have never eaten there, mainly because it is located right next door to my fav cheap eat in Newtown (Newtown Thai). But this week I thought I should branch out and try something new. The endless stream of people walking in and out of this Mexican eatery encouraged me to resist the call of Thai food for one night and give Mexican...

Changing Lanes Festival – Newtown

Changing Lanes Festival - Newtown
Eliza Street in Newtown was transformed into a laneway music festival on Sunday the 19th September for FBi Radio’s Changing Lanes Festival. It was a truly unique smaller scale set up for Sydney and I’m glad I was a part of the debut. Now I can always say “I was there when it first started”…. Eliza Street was barricaded off and the main stage was at the end. Although there were 2000 people...

Googling, Hardware Gallery Style

Googling, Hardware Gallery Style
This is the 4th year that Hardware Gallery at Enmore has addressed the issue of  “google” and the impact that this word has had on our society via the medium of art. In collaboration with the Sydney Fringe Festival, this year the concept is “black sheep”. The artists involved in the Google Exhibition all google “black sheep” on the same day, at the same time, then...

Downsizing your empty nester, baby boomer life

Downsizing your empty nester, baby boomer life
This week my parents decided that they want to experience city life for a while, after spending most of their married lives living in the burbs. They have already sold their house last year and moved from a 6 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom apartment just to see if they liked apartment living. Keep in mind, that my mother does not like to throw things out and having such a large house for 40 years tends...

The many talents of Mark Hetherington

The many talents of Mark Hetherington
“Talented” is a word that doesn’t even begin to describe Mark Hetherington, artist, musician and all round creative soul. His May Street art studio is an honest representation of who this man is; insightful, thought provoking and artistic to the core (with a definite streak of cheekiness mixed in there). I couldn’t resist the opportunity to visit Mark’s creative space at May Street Studio....

‘Twisted’ by Ears

'Twisted' by Ears
Seriously twisted and seriously mine! This the creative work of Ears. If you want one of his creations for your very own you will have to check out his upcoming solo exhibition. ‘War Paint’ is on exhibition at Lo-Fi Collective, 383 Bourke Street Darlinghurst. Opening this Saturday, 11 September at 6pm. I love his street art, I love his work on canvas, I can’t wait to see this exhibition!...
