Auction results for Saturday 14 August 2010

Auction results for Saturday 14 August 2010
innerwestrealestatesydney.com.au has been making a huge effort to track auction results in the inner west area due to the lack of results that appear in the papers. We realise it is a huge job for companies to track the whole of Sydney so we decided to take matters into our own hands so that we could be up to date with suburbs in our area. Last weekend there were 12 auctions scheduled for Saturday...

Settlement on Tuesday…no chance…bugger!

Settlement on Tuesday...no chance...bugger!
Ok, let me set the scene. My husband and I spent over a year searching long and hard, high and low for a property to buy in the Inner West. We missed out on several properties at auction and finally managed to secure one prior to auction. Sure, a complete dog box but with potential. When we initially went through the property it was actually impossible to get a true indication of what the property...

LUG or delapidated shed??? Real Estate advertising at its best!

LUG or delapidated shed??? Real Estate advertising at its best!
So it is only one week until I finally get the keys to my inner west pad in my hot little hands. I am so excited because I have had to wait a full 3 months for settlement. The wait has been killing me. My local cafe will soon be Kelby’s Cafe at the top of Malakoff Street and I will be within walking distance to the fantastic Marrickville Organic Farmers Markets that are on every Sunday on Addison...

Newtowns Most Famous Mural & Local Residents Face Their Biggest Threat!
Opposite the railway line at Macdonaldtown station (adjacent to Pine St) is a famous mural known as the “Three Proud People”. The mural signifies the 1968 stance of 3 athletes who stood in defiance on the Olympic medal podium. During the American national anthem John Carlos and Tommie Smith gave the raised fist salute as a sign of black power and in protest on behalf of the Olympic Project...

The Ghost Writer Preview Screening at the Dendy

The Ghost Writer Preview Screening at the Dendy
I can’t imagine that the 2 girls in front of me who tongue slurped through this movie were turned on by 007′s Pierce Brosnan so I can only conclude that they were bored with Roman Polanski’s much anticipated “The Ghost Writer”. The reviews for this political based thriller about a former British Prime Minister and the ghost writer assigned to complete his memoirs have...

Introducing Scooter Girl

Introducing Scooter Girl
This is scooter girl signing in for her duties… I have been given the unenviable task of writing about my search as an Inner Westie to find a date, love interest, fling or at the very least a male friend. Ok so basically I am desperate and dateless in the Inner West. I am interested in men only, I am late 30′s, I don’t think I have any real hang ups although I am quite independent. My...

Marrickville Council Environmental Initiatives

Marrickville Council Environmental Initiatives
Having just bought a property in the inner west I am always excited to find out about environmental initiatives of the Marrickville Council. I recently made my first visit to the Marrickville Organic Food & Farmers Market which was a foodies delight but while exploring the stalls I stumbled across a nursery out the back near The Bower. The Marrickville Community Nursery sells native plants but...
